Minimize your time on the tee: Hit when ready; save time by playing a provisional ball if you think your original ball might be lost or out bounds.
Plan your shot before you get to your ball: Think ahead; determine your yardage; make your club selection before it is your turn.
Be efficient on the putting green: Line up your putt while others are getting ready to putt; first player done puts flag in the hole. Wait until the next tee to record the scores.
When sharing a cart, use a buddy system: Don't wait in the cart while your partner hits and then drives to your ball. Get out, walk to your ball with a few clubs. Be ready to play when it is your turn.
Be helpful to others: Follow the flight of all tee shots; help others look for their ball after you have played your shot; volunteer to fill in a divot or rake a bunker; be ready to attend the flag stick.
Saddle Rock-Murphy Creek Men's Club consists of members from Saddle Rock and Murphy Creek Golf Courses. Murphy Creek has been a host site fo the U.S. Amateur Qualifying; the CGA Stroke Play Championship; the 2008 U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship.
Both courses are entertaining, challenging, and of championship caliber. We are fortunate to be playing two of the more challenging courses in the metro area, if not in the state.
There will be fourteen tournaments held throughout the season - April to October. The tournaments will alternate between each course with each course hosting seven tournaments. The tournaments feature a variety of team and individual formats - Best Ball; Stableford; Scotch; Gross-Net; Match Play; and the Club Championship.
